I attended the 'Nakhwa Nori' festival held at the Baekje Cultural Land in Buyeo-gun, Chungcheongnam-do on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 7 PM. Nakhwa Nori is a traditional Korean fireworks display, and it is an impressive event where the fireworks scatter and fall beautifully like flower petals.
Nakhwa Nori, named for the beautiful spectacle of fireworks scattering like flower petals, is a traditional event dating back to the ancient Baekje era. It carries the meaning of wishing for abundance, peace, and harmony.
1. Beautiful Fireworks Display
The fireworks that adorned the night sky descended slowly like flower petals, captivating the audience. The reflection of the fireworks in the nearby lake created an even more mysterious atmosphere.
2. Traditional Cultural Performances
Samulnori, Korean traditional dance, and traditional music performances were held, allowing visitors to experience the vibrant Korean traditional culture.
3. Various Cultural Experiences
Various cultural programs, such as traditional Hanbok (Korean traditional clothing) wearing experiences, traditional crafts, and musical instrument experiences, were available, providing enjoyment for the whole family.
Nakhwa Nori, held at the Baekje Cultural Land on an autumn night, is a precious experience where you can feel the beauty and history of Korean tradition together. If you are visiting Korea in the fall, I highly recommend participating!
