Lunch time.
I was particularly hungry that day.
As usual, after pondering "What should I eat today?"
The sign for Banseok Samgyeopsal caught my eye.
I don't think it was there last time?
The phrase indicating a lunch special at a meat restaurant.
The menu below showed a pork and kimchi stew set meal for 10,000 won.
At this price, it honestly piqued my curiosity.
Is it possible to dine alone?
I asked the owner as I went inside.
With a smile, "Yes, you can eat here."
With that one answer, lunch was decided today.
Exterior of Banseok Samgyeopsal, a meat restaurant near Banseok Station.
The order is simple.
Pork and kimchi stew set meal 10,000 won.
The composition was more substantial than expected.
Pork and kimchi stew + beef siraegi (dried radish leaves) hangover soup + rice + wrapped vegetables + side dishes
You can tell the weight of 'ten thousand won' just by looking at it.
It's not easy to find a meal like this for that price these days.
A table set with the stir-fried pork with gochujang set meal enjoyed for 10,000 won.
The pork and kimchi is seasoned, but not excessive.
The balance of spicy, sweet, and salty is stable, so I kept eating rice.
It wasn't greasy, so I felt comfortable even after the meal,
and it finished cleanly without any off-putting smell.
It's closer to home-cooked pork and kimchi
rather than feeling like it was a set menu.
Stir-fried pork with gochujang with a good balance of seasoning, a clean taste without being too stimulating.
The soup was unexpected.
Usually, soybean paste soup or seaweed soup is served,
but here, it's beef siraegi hangover soup.
The broth is rich, and there is plenty of siraegi.
When eaten with the spicy pork and kimchi,
it cleans up the mouth comfortably.
The fact that this combination is served for lunch
gives a surprisingly high level of satisfaction.

The wrapped vegetables were plentiful.
There were a lot of lettuce and perilla leaves,
so I could eat as much as I wanted.
Even though I was alone, "Shall I give you more wraps?"
The owner asked first.
That one sentence was so warm.
Generous lettuce and perilla leaves for ssam at Banseok Samgyeopsal.
A piece of pork with gochujang. A spoonful of rice. And a bite of ssam.
The additional side dishes were self-service.
As much as you want, as much as you need,
you can take them yourself.
Freely without looking at anyone's eyes,
this is a surprisingly big advantage.
Especially for those who eat alone.
I didn't use the self-service bar today because there were many side dishes and wraps.
Side dishes are self-serve and free, a convenient system for solo diners.
The owner and their spouse personally handled the service throughout the meal.
I felt good until I finished my meal and left.
The atmosphere of the restaurant itself is warm.
'It's not awkward to eat alone'
is one of the biggest advantages of this place.
Of course, the taste is a bonus.
Banseok Samgyeopsal menu
In summary,
A warm and satisfying lunch
It's a meat restaurant, but it was clean like a lunch specialty restaurant,
solo diners were also comfortable,
and the price was exactly ten thousand won.
If you are looking for lunch near Banseok Station,
there's no need to hesitate with this place.
Just go in.

That day as well
I had a hearty meal.
Next time, I should come again for Banseok Samgyeopsal's thinly sliced pork special.
That was the lunch story from Nolda Blog.
